Sunny Hill Flowers is one of the most sophisticated operations in Australia, utilising the latest in production technology and techniques. Located in Silvan, Victoria, Sunny Hill Flowers sits on 44 acres of fertile land, with 40,000 square metres under climate-controlled production and the potential to grow and expand.

The aim of its owners is to consistently produce the highest quality flowers utilising the most environmentally sensitive techniques. Maintaining a consistent ecological environment, every step of the production process is meticulously monitored using only responsible plant protection and fertilisation media.

The process begins with soil sterilization, utilising a steam method rather than chemicals to minimise waste and impact on the environment. The carefully selected bulbs are grown hydroponically, planted by hand in crates. They then spend a number of weeks in the cool room to acclimatise and establish a strong root system. This environment guarantees the consistent quality of the flowers, availability all year round and also ensures the flowers will last.

Once in the climate controlled glasshouse the flowers continue to grow and develop. This takes an average of 3 months and is monitored closely to ensure quality and perfection. Once they have reached maturity, the flowers are handpicked, carefully selected with professional expertise. Only those flowers of the highest quality are chosen, then carefully bunched in our warehouse (chilled to the right temperature) from where they are shipped to wholesalers and selected florists around Australia.
